The sun-drenched Lungau high basin is a paradise for cyclists. Star-shaped, very much like the spokes of a wheel, the Lungau's 15 side valleys radiate out, just waiting for you to explore from atop your bike. The natural lay of the land offers the casual cyclist a variety of options.

In the friendly setting of their beer gardens, cyclist-friendly inns and restaurants have all kinds of regional culinary tidbits in store. Not without cause does one of Austria's most beautiful and variety-filled bike paths, the Mur Cycle Path, have its start in the Lungau village of Muhr.

Race cyclists have a special place in their hearts for those low-traffic side valleys, as well as for the region's scenic roads.
